Easily check your forest’s DNS status

The DNS test is a detailed test of a DC's DNS configuration. The syntax is

Dcdiag  /test:dns  /e  /v  >dnsstatus.log            where

/e – every DC in the forest

/v – verbose output

> dnsstatus.log – log file 

The tests are:

Auth – authentication

Basc – Basic connectivity

Forw – forwarders configuration

Del – delegation

Dyn – dynamic registration

Rreg – resource record registration

Ext – external connectivity outside of the zone
